All Good Things Must Come to an End

Today was Jackson's end of the year party, and seriously I think every child in there was terrified. All those moms and teachers bawling like big babies. At one point when it was really teary, Jackson said "I want to go home." :) I think they were overwhelmed and confused. They probably think they never get to go back to school again or never see Mrs. Cheryl and Mrs. Melissa again. Above I posted a picture of Mrs. Cheryl presenting Jackson with his rather large goodie bag from his teachers. What an awesome beach bag! It was full of a sand bucket, sand toys, playdoh, bubbles, sidewalk chalk, and more! With each child, she made a little speech about their experience that year, and while I don't remember word for word what she said about Jackson (I've got to replay the video camera) I remember her commenting on how he was a rule-follower, a big helper, etc. (Note: I won't post about Jackson not quite fitting that wonderful description she gave today verbally or the one she wrote on his report card about what a joy he was because he had a big time "off" day. :( I have no idea what that was about. Even the director asked me who I had in time out, and when I said Jackson, she retorted, "Why is HE in timeout?" Trust me, the kid you might see comfortable at home IS not the kid they get. He only gives them his best all the time. He is his mother's child. Totally.) Needless to say though, Cheryl's words brought tears to my eyes. Because no matter how today went, I know he was a great kid this school year. Better than I could have ever expected or imagined. I am SO proud of him.

His report card was awesome! He knows all his letters but V and Y. I plan to work on those this summer and try to start teaching him what a sentence is and maybe begin to teach him to read.

The theme of today was a beach party. Although it was raining and we had it indoors. The kids knew no different. They got to make cool visors.

Eat yummy treats...

And enjoy one last day with their friends. I am thrilled several of the children from this year will again be in next year's class. How awesome for Jackson to see familiar faces on the first day?
Can you tell I love The Sharon School? If you are looking for a preschool in our area, I highly recommend it!
