Because I have the best husband ever...because I have the best mother and father-n-law ever...and because I am blessed...I had a great birthday this year! I will admit while I LOVE birthdays especially as I get older I am less excited about my own. I am not sure why. It is not really BECAUSE I am getting older..more like I am just uncomfortable with the fuss being about me. I really like to plan other people's special days and surprises alot more. Still, it was so much fun to get away to Savannah with Paul for a quick 24 hour (give or take a few hours) trip. It was our first out of town trip since Jackson has been diagnosed..and Maw Maw did great!
We had dinner at Vic's on the River (just like always) and it was delicious. I will say that Savannah was quite different this time...thanks to our forgetting it was the week of Saint Patrick's Day AND spring break for Georgia Southern among other colleges. Still..gorgeous scenery though and not too chilly either. Some birthdays it snows for me! This time sleeveless shirts! (and a light jacket at night)
We went on another haunted pub tour...(see how I still like to focus on others?) :) I am not a ghost person at all; but Paul is! We even got to go upstairs in Moon River Brewery!
Honestly, I wish I was better at slowing down every day and enjoying life more. I am working on trying to do better. But, honestly I stay pretty chaotic and stressed. It really isn't stuff that can be put aside either since we have our own business to tend to. (Especially this time of year during tax season.) But, when we get away just the two of us it is so refreshing! We really need it..in fact it is my belief everyone does. I am so thankful we had the hotel points, the money for gas and food, and the best family ever to help us make it possible!
