Extra, Extra, Read All About It!

You'll never believe it! Preston peed on the toilet tonight!!!! If you've heard me lately discussing this, you know already Preston acts like he is ready to potty train. But, I am not ready. :) Is that possible? I just am not ready. I have gotten out the little seat for him and let him sit up there a few times only to find that he is interested in playing. So, I've let him when it has been convenient, but you all know how busy I am! I don't have 30 minutes of time most days for him to "play" on the toilet! If I leave him in there alone, we'd run out of toilet paper! :) Potty training Jackson was SO easy. I mean really it could not have been any easier. I waited until he was over age 3, and with a few small accidents (I mean less than ten since then) he was trained in 24 hours. Seriously. So, you can see why I am not interested in starting the whole process too early and training a child for weeks, months, or maybe even years!

So, tonight Jackson was going potty before he went to bed, and he came running for me in the living room and said, "Preston wants to go potty, Mommy! Can I help him?" I come to the bathroom to find Preston about to drop the seat cover into the water since Jackson still had the seat raised. To humor him, I let him go ahead and sit up there while I took Jackson to bed. I also forgot to point out Preston already had his pants down and was about to take off his diaper to go. Thinking what a waste of time, I left him there while I took Jackson to bed. I came bad to find his "wee wee" (okay, what do you call it on here???) dripping wet with pee! I jumped up and down, did the whole dance, and clapped and squealed with pride!

He CLEARLY loved my dance and all the attention that came along with it, and then he proceeds to strain to go poopy! Poor guy! Nothing came out, but he was trying!

Whew! He is growing up way too fast! Guess I need to snap out of it and get on board myself! I'll keep you posted! I'm going to do some soul-searching and see if I can get ready to start this! He really must be ready or if not ready, really close to being ready!

Congrats, Preston!
