Grandparent's Day Celebration

Today Jackson celebrated Grandparent's Day at school with Maw Maw Mitchell and Paw Paw Bell! He had so much fun! And, he loved the blueberry muffins! I think he would have kept eating them all if we would have let him.
It was my first "room mom" event, so thankfully Gail came over to watch Preston for me. What a big help! I don't think I could have done it without her helping me! Plus, it was really nice to make it all about Jackson. He hasn't been with his grandparents alone since Preston was born.

Mrs. Cheryl and Mrs. Melissa made Paw Paw Bell and Maw Maw Mitchell a placemat with Jackson's picture and this cute (and sad) little poem about him growing up so fast. They were adorable. (sorry it's sideways :) )

Jackson was having fun picking at Paw Paw Bell and tickling him. They were so cute together.
Maw Maw really helped out by helping jackson get his food and orange juice. I know Jackson was very excited to see her at his school. He kept saying it is the "day for visiting."
To me the cutest part was to put those grandparents to work. They had a craft to do with the kids. They made a family tree. They had a painting using Jackson's hand and arm to make the tree and the branches. Then, they had leaves to write the family members on, and then they glued them onto the branches. Maw Maw assisted with the glue and placement of the leaves. Paw Paw Bell wrote on the leaves. It was too hilarious! They took it so serious as you can tell by the picture. They really got down to business!
It was really such a special day. The teacher teared up saying the blessing, and later admitted she was just PMSing and felt silly for getting so emotional. But, I tell you I cried, too. It is so hard to believe it is time for all this stuff. I just did all this with Nicholas, and that seems like yesterday. But, it was 7 years ago! Time is flying by so fast!

Thank you Maw Maw and Paw Paw for making our day so special. And, thank you Lord for blessing us with our grandparents. (Including those who couldn't make it today because of work :) )
