Kids Say the Darndest Things!

Preston has decided his name is "Jasson" (aka Jackson). And, he is serious. He has been saying for a while that his name is Jackson, but I wasn't sure he knew what he was saying. Now, I know he does! And, he is clear not to call him Preston. Today at Target, I told him his name was "Preston" not "Jackson." He whined and said, "No, mommy, don't say it! Don't say it, Mommy!"

Also, now Preston is playing hide-n-seek and counting, too. Except his counting sounds like this: "One, two, fwee, fowr, six, eight, ten! Weddy not, here come! Boo!" It will make you pee your pants! :)

Jackson informed me today of something else hilarious to me. He said this, "Mommy, I want you to put some water in my water pow thing (aka water gun), and I want to water your pink rose outside by myself. You can stay inside with Preston. And, when I get done I will come to that door with the doorbell and ding it, and then you can come outside to see your rose from all that watering."

I reply, "Jackson, you can't be outside by yourself. That's not safe."

Of course, his reply was, "Why?"

I said, "Because you're too young. You're only three. That's too little to be outside by yourself."

So, then he said this, "Well, if you come out there then I want you to hide so I can't see you. And, you need to be quiet so I can concentrate on watering that rose!"

Of course he wants me to hide, so he can make himself believe he is really outside by himself. Oh, and I have NO IDEA where in the world he ever heard someone ask him to be quiet so they could concentrate on something! Whoever would do that!? (hiding under the table once again)

Then, he also informed me that the red stripes on the American flag were put there by God. And, he asked me if I knew how God put them there. When I said no, he informed me God used magic that (get this) he got from Jackson. Apparently, Jackson told me that sometimes God needs some magic and Jackson gives it to Him. Okey-dokey! Whatever he says! ????
