Today I braved Atlanta traffic (and I do mean true downtown Atlanta; we were at the corner of Spring Street and 18th Street) and took the boys to see this adorable puppet show called, "Sam the Lovesick Snowman." I had never been to the Center for Puppetry Arts, and it was so much fun. I think Jackson is the perfect age for stuff like this. Preston enjoyed himself, too. Well, really only until naptime approached. :) The show was at 1pm. But, he really liked the show itself. He giggled and cackled so loud! I thought it was neat, too, that at the end the puppeteers came out and showed us how it all worked and came together. I remember as a child always wondering. It was really neat. Plus, they had a museum where they had a "Fraggle Rock" exhibit! Remember that show? I loved it, and so did big JPM. We only had HBO (isn't that the channel it came on?) at my Me-mommie's. But, I still watched it every chance I got!
At the end of the show, the kids got to make their own puppet. Jackson LOVED that! Here is his snowman. He put a heart on it just like "Sam" had in the show. Preston is not about getting glue on his hands these days, so he just chose what to put on his and where, and I glued it on for him. I thought they might kick us out for how many foam pieces and buttons he used. Poor guy! He needed a chair. He could barely see over the side of the table. I had my hands full doing two crafts alone with two toddlers, but it was so worth it.

They also had a museum where the kids got to see old antique puppets and how they worked. This big head on the wall had controls you could work to do his mouth, ears, eyebrows, and nose, etc. Jackson was hesitant at first, but then he loved manipulating them. Preston on the other hand was TERRIFIED! They even had a little bird he could control, but after seeing this head move around he wanted no part in it. He was just fine sitting in the stroller munching on his cheez-its. Another neat part was one of those screens with light where you could do hand puppets. Me and Jackson played in there for a while. He liked that.

We had a great time and ended the trip with (yummy and yuck at the same time) a lunch in the car from the Varsity! I am sure tomorrow I will pay for that with my irritable bowel! :) (I know, I know, too much information.) Still, it was a day of memories and time well spent with my two little JPMs. I am so blessed. Have I mentioned that before?

OK. You really are SuperMom. You guys do so much fun stuff!!
(blushing) That is so sweet of you, but remember I don't blog about my yelling at the kids for disobeying! :) No supermom here I'm afraid! But, seriously I am just an "on the go" person. My family makes fun of me, but I can't stand to sit still for long. So, we keep busy. The kids thankfully have inherited my genes in that department, and they are up for just about anything!
