Enjoy it while it lasts...

I know one day homework will be fractions, integers, spelling words, and essays...but for right now it is lots of fun! This weekend our homework was to make Jackson's box for his Valentines he will get from his friends on Thursday. (Once again blogger posts my pictures in whatever order it wants...but here they are anyway...out of order.)

Here is the finished product and the proud artist.
Here's what we started with...
Here's Jackson's personalization:

Painting this morning...

I think it turned out really well! We both are suffering from colds, so we didn't feel quite 100 percent to be doing crafts. But, once we both got our frames of mind right and got started we had alot of fun.
There are two things I learned after our homework session:
1. It is nearly IMPOSSIBLE to do anything Valentine-themed and it not turn out girly! :(
2. Drawing hearts to cut out is ALOT harder than you think. Thank goodness I had my cheerleader Jackson in the background saying, "Great job, Mom! I never knew you could draw hearts like that." They were completely lopsided.
Happy Valentine's Day (early!)
