A New Tradition...

As you have already read we are very busy on Christmas Eve. While we did try to go see Paul's mom and dad before we went to Maw Maw Brown's, with everyone's errands they had it just didn't work out. We like to go there right after Maw Maw Brown's, but then we have my dad's party, too. As you can see, it gets tough to divide ourselves up. :( I do love my traditions...and I do hate change :). So, it is tough to accept it appears that at this present time we will be doing Christmas NOT Christmas Eve with Paul's mom and dad but instead on a new day, Christmas Day. Don't get me wrong...I love Christmas Day! After all, it is the most important of the two days. You know what I mean...I just like doing things the same way they've always been done. And, Paul's mom is not typically OCD like me, but it makes her sad too to change it. So, that makes it even harder. Plus, then you add Paul's brother's family commitments with his in-laws to the mix, and it just doesn't work out for all of us to be at one place at the same time, and that stinks. But, yes...we are still awfully blessed! And, we do see Paul's brother and my niece and nephew at other parties throughout the family, so it all works out!

So...a new tradition it is...but it is still super fun and having it on the new day with less places to go actually makes it more relaxing and laid back!

Maw Maw got the boys (my big boy Paul included :)) Nerf guns. What a neat idea!

And, they got cowboy boots! (just the little JPMs) Preston's have Buzz and Woody on them although you can't see that here. They are a tad big, but that means he can wear them longer, and he just loves them!

She also got them suits and ties to wear! They enjoyed dressing up in all this get-up for New Year's Eve! (And, Jackson wore his on his first day of 4k.) Preston's isn't pictured here yet because she had trouble finding his size, but don't worry I'll post a picture soon. ;)
And...of course it wouldn't be a Christmas for a 3 year old and a 5 year old without TOYS! Preston opened this (he has been wanting it for quite a while) and said, "I've been waiting my whole wife (life) for dis (this!)" Gee, a pretty long wait (3 years!) don't you think? haha!

The important part is family...no matter when, how, or where. I do hope next year we can even make it more better by doing it with Paul's brother no matter which day or time it is. But, this year was still fun and memorable. And...we finished it up with a late dinner at Waffle House! Hmm.. another new tradition for Christmas Day maybe?

PS In this last pic, I look like someone! I can't figure it out..who is it? My dad? My mom? It is driving me nuts! What do you think?
