Today was Jackson's Thanksgiving Feast at school. It was so much fun. I think I was more excited than he was about the fact that they were singing a song and reciting a song for us. I have GOT to sit down and find the time to hook up my video camera so I can post him singing with his class. He was by far the loudest! Even on the video you can tell that. Paul missed it, but when he watched it back with Jackson he could not help but smile. Plus, Preston got to go this time, so I had my hands full! On the camera you hear Preston saying, "I gone go see Jasson." He was going to head up on the stage to go see Jackson! Thankfully, I stopped him in time!
The class made turkey shirts to wear for today. Aren't they just adorable?
Here he is getting ready to sing. His future wife is to his immediate right.
I made the table centerpieces and they turned out very good I have to admit. Thanks to Erica for the inspiration! I put a stick in the pots for each child saying what they said they were most thankful for. I tell you the answers would make you wet your pants! One little boy said he was most thankful for: chicken nuggets, chocolate milk, and God. HAHA! Jackson's answer was his family and his cars. (I think the family part came from the song they were singing :))
Here are the handprint placemats they made. Loved them!
And what was so funny to me was how tired the kids were after all of it! They were wiped out! I was cooking lunch and came in to find them laying like this watching Diego. Jackson said they were having a sleepover campout?! I think they might ask Santa for some sleeping bags. Remember how much fun those were!
I also wanted to mention that Jackson got his first report card! And, he did very well! He knows 11 of the alphabet letters. Which is very good for just few short months of school. By that I mean, he can recognize them when asked. He knows all his numbers, colors, and shapes and has completed all the other tasks as well such as scissors, zippers, puzzles, etc. He got all good remarks, too, for conduct and behavior. The only remark she had that might not be 100 percent positive was that he tries to help others sometimes a bit too much. (Hence always wanting to be the line leader I mentioned previously.) He likes to be the top helper. Which I knew already. She is working on it she said. She did say he always has the best intentions though even when helping too much. If that is all then what a blessing! I am SO proud of my boy. I really can't believe I was his main foundation, and he has turned out so well so far! Wow! Maybe I do know what I am doing! (a little) :)
