Jackson is saying some of the funniest things these days. The other day he asked if God had a cell phone. Then, the other day he said in a very exasperated tone he couldn't see God. He wanted to know why he couldn't see God. I did my little explanation. Then, he exclaimed, "Well, why can't He just stick his head of the clouds for just a second so I can see Him?!" As I went on to explain faith and what that meant, he said, "Faith? Like Thanksgiving?" Then, I went to explain further about faith and added about how much God gives us. I ended saying He gives us so much, even life that lasts forever. He then said in astonishment, "Yes, yes! Life and liberty, too!" I said, "Liberty?" amazed that is what he tied it in to. He said, "Yes, liberty. I learned all about that in the pledge allegiance with Mrs. Cheryl." He was clearly proud of how smart he was. I had to hold back my laugh. :)
Then tonight in the bath, he made a great discovery! He said all excited, "Mom! Guess what? I have long strings on my legs now like Daddy." Imagine how many times I had to get him to repeat that statement until I finally understood what he was trying to say. Then, when it clicked, and I realized he had found the faintest blonde hairs on the calf of his leg and that those hairs were in fact his "strings" I don't think I have laughed that hard in a long, long time!
I needed it. Preston is not doing much better, and is in fact refusing all "goo medsen" right now. He is gagging on it all, and I am literally having to hold him down (by myself..big JPM is out of town working) and fight him to give it to him. Which is alot of medicine because his fever is still pretty high. (sigh) Wish me lots of rest tonight, so I can be prepared and in a good mood in the morning. :)
