Five Years Really Does Fly By!

Recently, I got the chance to get together with my closest friends from my years spent in pharmacy school. (missing just one, Melissa, who had to work :( and she was certainly missed.) Some of them I hadn't seen since graduation five years ago.

These girls were my confidants, friends, supporters, and everything to me while I was at the University of GA College of Pharmacy. In fact, we always sat side by side or on the same row or one row apart for 3 years. We shared many memories, and it really seems like yesterday that we were sitting in those classrooms nervously discussing our possible fate on a test.

We all got to meet at Virginia's pharmacy that she took over from her uncle and dad after graduation in nearby Barnesville, Georgia. Jennifer drove up from Columbus, Georgia while Megan was up here from Florida visiting her family as well.

Pictured below is Carter's Drugs, Virginia's business now. It is ADORABLE. Maybe pharmacies are supposed to be adorable, but it is so historical, quaint, and just down right cute. You can tell Virginia is happy there, and is doing a great job building her business. After meeting there we all walked a few blocks away to get some lunch.
Here's the group: (L to R) Jennifer, Megan, me and Virginia
While we all lead very busy, separate lives it was nice to see we all kind of picked up where we left off in conversation. It didn't seem that different from all those trips to Schlotzsky's in Athens or better yet a trip to JoAnn's craft store.

A little bit about each of my dear friends:

Jennifer is married, just got a new house, works part-time for Walgreen's, and has a bouncing, cute baby boy, AJ.

Megan is married, lives in Florida, also recently got her MBA, works a great schedule at a hospital pharmacy, and has a beautiful baby girl, Clara.

Virginia is gorgeous as always, running a hometown pharmacy in a cute little historic district, chairing up committees, and as always involved, energetic, and independent! She has one child as well, an adorable yorkie named Sophie. (My boys called her "Soapy" :) )

Yes, are all going in our different directions, hurriedly managing our busy lives, but it was so awesome we were able to take a quick reprieve from all that to get back together again. I certainly hope we make a habit out of it.

Thanks girls, for all you did back then, and for a great lunch and visit!
