My Little Superstar

Monday night was finally it! Jackson's preschool Christmas program! I was so excited, and so was he! I love these things. I would like to thank everyone who came from my whole family! It meant so much to us and Jackson that you all were there. He loves performing for all of us.

Afterwards, we had dinner out with everyone at Longhorn's and did a surprise birthday celebration for my in-laws. It was alot of fun, too. It was a school night, and we all had worked that day, and I know we all were tired. But, still, it was a night full of some good memories!
Maw Maw, you really shouldn't let them use up all your film!!! Jackson totally thinks he is an adult. Can you tell?

Singing "Do You Know Why it is Christmas?" First I had heard that song, and I loved it!

Jackson really took it all so serious. It was adorable! Once they asked a rhetorical question, and Jackson started to excitedly blurt out the answer! He caught himself, but it was so cute how he really wanted to tell us all about why we celebrate Christmas. It was funny, how it made me laugh so hard because I thought it was the best part of the night and just plain adorable. But, watching it back on the video last night I saw it kind of embarassed him. I immediately felt that mommy instinct come out and felt embarassed with him and thought to myself I would give anything to take away any uncomfortable or self-conscious feelings he had right then. I would just take it all away. But, then I remembered how all those feelings and growing pains are necessary. I don't want to be those overprotective mommies who don't let their children find their place in this world. But, gosh it is hard sometimes. I know you have to "let them fall" sometimes, but it is so hard. I am finding so much of myself in Jackson. I really hope he outgrows his perfectionism, but I doubt he will. I never did. I hope that God can lead me to help Jackson work with his though to do good in his life.

And, I end the details of the evening with Preston's silly smile. He loves to do this. All you have to do is say: "Show me/them your smile" or "Show us your silly smile," and this is what we get. It is hilarious!

I hope you are enjoying these early Christmas celebration moments with your family, too!
