The boys and I drove (yes, in the rain and cold) up to Lenox Square Mall this afternoon to continue our tradition of riding Priscilla, the Pink Pig. We also got to see the Macy's tree, which by the time we headed home was lit for our enjoyment as well. If you don't know, the Pink Pig is a very old tradition here in Atlanta, and the heritage it brings is partially why I enjoy going to ride it every year. Another plus is that part of the proceeds benefit Children's Healthcare of Atlanta. It has changed alot since my dad was a child, and now it is basically a pink train that goes through storybook pages with lots of Christmas decorations (of course all pink mostly). The kids still like it though, pink or not. I have perfected the perfect time to go each year where there won't be a line, and today I was successful once again. So, since we were practically the only ones there Jackson got to head up the front which he loved!

Preston at first wasn't too sure. He heard us speaking of an animal (he is deathly afraid of moving animals..dogs..deer...even stuffed animals), and he kept saying, "It not gonna hurt you." Once he saw that it was a train though (he eats, breathes, sleeps, and eats Thomas the Train), we were good to go!

Sounds like fun. Maybe we can join you next year.
